Taiyo, Year 11

  • Taiyo, Year 11

I have been at Dover Court since 2015, I am now in Year 11. I enrolled in Dover Court after I graduated from the Japanese elementary school. Thanks to the English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme, I could smoothly transit to the new environment with English as the language of instruction. In the beginning it was a bit hard, but I settled quickly thanks to my teachers and I am really enjoying school now.

The main reason that my parents and I chose Dover Court was that it is a small size school and felt like home, we also like how they offer support students who are not very good at English, through EAL. The spacious greenery campus was also attractive. Because it is small-scale school, all the students are very close, and the teachers really have time for each student. What I enjoy most is playing 4 square and basketball during recess. After school, I play football as a captain of our team and play basketball, I am also on the cross country team. As for subjects, I like design technology and science the most. Sometimes, after school, I study with my friends at out new library. There are 2 classes at 11 grades, but the entire school year beyond the classes are all good friends.

As I like sports very much, I would like to study sports related subjects after finishing my IB Diploma , most likely in the UK and get a job related to physiotherapy or football. I also like to cook, thus I did an intern at a catering company during this summer vacation. I would like to improve my cooking skill.
