Book Week in Year 4

02 October 2015

Year 4 classes were lucky enough to meet 'The 2 Steves’ in 2 separate writing workshops this week.

During the sessions the children were offered many tips on how to improve their own writing. Children were shown how they could use their own experiences to create interesting stories by exaggerating them and making them funnier. The authors also shared how they regularly steal ideas and encouraged our Y4 writers to do the same.

If children found it difficult to write the next part of a story the authors advised them to close their eyes and visualise the scene and then describe the setting or characters using some of the 5 senses.

It was fantastic to hear 'The 2 Steves’ read extracts from their own books and some lucky people were chosen to bring them to life by acting them out. Some classes enjoyed meeting their buddy classes for the very first time and today’s dress up day was definitely the highlight for many.
