At these times, our priority is to focus on the important task of settling our students into school life and for them to become familiar with our expectations. We also want to focus on the other important members of our community - our parents.
It is pleasing to note that parents are making every effort to attend these meetings as there is much to be learnt and understood. The education of our students is a three-way partnership between the school, parents and, of course, the most important people – BIS HCMC students.
I have been very impressed with our IBDP and IGCSE results and these can be viewed in detail on our website. To achieve results of this magnitude is a testament to the hard work of our students and teachers with the great support of our parents throughout. These results once again reinforce the fact that our three-way partnership operates at a very high level.
Equally pleasing has been the confirmation of university places for our 2017 graduates. 95% of our graduates have gone to various universities worldwide whilst 5% have embarked on a ‘gap year’. The percentage allocation of where the students will be studying is as follows:
- Asia – 17%
- Australia – 14%
- Canada – 18%
- Europe – 3%
- USA - 24%
- UK – 14%
- Gap Year – 5%
Our graduates have secured places in outstanding universities in each of the above regions and we wish them well with their future studies. What we do know is that an IBDP qualification prepares them exceptionally well for the challenges of university life.
I do hope that you all have a most pleasant weekend.
Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal
