Good Vibrations in Year 4!

Year 4 students are particularly enjoying their learning in Science this term as part of their unit on sound. Children have explored pitch and volume through a series of practical activities. There has been plenty of hands-on experience and careful listening.

On Tuesday, students’ learning was further consolidated by a creative and highly informative class assembly from 4N. The audience were entertained with live music, dance and experiments. What a fantastic assembly, 4N. Well done! Another highlight for 4N was when Year 8 students led a rotation of sensory activities including sound tests. This week students are working on the ‘key investigation’ of the unit which is to investigate how to muffle sound. Students have created boxes of all shapes, sizes and materials to block the sound of an iPad. As you can see in the photos, there have been some well-researched box designs and we are excited to investigate which box is most effective.
