On Saturday 27th January, a group of BIS HCMC athletes competed in the SISAC Athletics City Championships. After their success in the U15 FOBISIA Games in Term 1, our students continued to show the BIS HCMC spirit of ambition and determination by winning 4 out of the 6 group divisions!

The technique and professional attitude on show was a testament to the hard work put in by both students and teachers in lessons and during Athletics ECAs to make sure that they were technically the best team at the championships. BIS couldn’t quite manage the 6 out of 6 division championships that they achieved last year, but they still came away with four 1st place team trophies, a host of top three event ribbons and a number of school records broken. The 13-14 girls division even managed to win their category by an astonishing 77 points!

Team Final Placements – Secondary Age Groups

  • 10-12 Boys: Champions – winning by 38 points
  • 10-12 Girls: Champions – winning by 23 points
  • 13-14 Boys: Runners Up
  • 13-14 Girls: Champions – winning by 77 points
  • 15-18 Boys: Champions – winning by 8.5 points
  • 15-18 Girls: Runners Up

Each school entered 2 competitors per event. In the plethora of events on the day, all BIS students finished in the top three places out of the 24 people entered. This is a great achievement, but as there are too many of these to mention, only 1st places will be listed below:
