Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified and experienced teachers. A minimum of three years recent experience of teaching History to GCSE/IGCSE and either A level or the IB Diploma programme is essential.
The History Department at BIS is a place for positive problem solving, and a deep love for our subject. KS3 History is a broad and thought provoking course, where assessments are built around a range of historical concepts such as change and continuity, significance, cause and consequence, interpretation and evidence. KS4 students take the CIE IGCSE, on International Relations in the 20th Century. KS5 students take IB History at either Standard or Higher Level. Co-Curricular activities are a key part of the History department and all teachers work together to deliver, for example, the Remembrance Assembly, Inter-House History Quiz and local visits. The future of the department involves the inclusion of more regional History, and the further development of research skills from Year 7 to 13.
