Our community partner for Year 2 is Anh Minh School for the Hearing Impaired. Over the course of the academic year, the children have weekly visits with the Anh Minh children where they share their classroom and learning. On alternate weeks, BIS and Anh Minh visit each other’s campuses and spend time doing activities typical for their school.
"Hung went the extra mile with the children from Anh Minh School for the Hearing Impaired. Hung used great non-verbal communication to interact with the children, as well as showing incredible kindness. Even when it was difficult to communicate, he persevered! Way to go, Hung!" - Ms Samantha Baker, Year 1 Teacher and Community Service Leader
At BIS we encourage our children to not only care for other people but for the environment as well. Mason in Year 4 was recognised for going above and beyond expectations during the Year 4 residential expedition to Long Hai. While most other students were playing and splashing in the sea, Mason took the initiative to spend over an hour clearing plastic from the beach, instead of building sandcastles.
"Mason truly embodied the independent Community Spirit we strive for at BIS. Excellent work, Mason!" - Ms Samantha Baker, Year 1 Teacher and Community Service Leader
