The mission of the Parent Teacher Group (PTG) at the Primary Campuses (Early Years and Infants Campus and Junior Campus), British International School, Ho Chi Minh City (BIS HCMC) is to positively impact the lives of all our children and families. The PTG maintains a close working relationship between parents, staff and children and it is our goal to enhance and strengthen these relationships by encouraging the growth of the community spirit within our school.
The PTG does this by providing social events, fun activities and fundraising events throughout the school year. Some past favourites are the Parent/Teacher Social Night, School Discos, Family Fun Event, Global Café, Spring Fair and Bake Sales.
Volunteering in the PTG is a great way to start to integrate with the existing school population. Parent involvement in school life is an important factor in a child’s success.
Please consider joining one of our event committees, sign up to be a class parent or sign up to sell tickets to some of the events. When we have bigger events like the Spring Fair and Family Picnic, we will need more volunteers to man stalls, sell drinks and organise the day.
We need parent participation and volunteers in order to be able to run school-wide events. Volunteering your time will help you settle in quickly as you start to understand the mechanics of how each event is run, and also how the school system works.

By volunteering as a Class Parent Representative you will help to pave the way for communications between the teacher and parents, and also from the PTG to parents. Key areas of responsibility are:
- to serve as a contact for (new) families in your class
- to disseminate information from the PTG to all class parents about events in school

The main Primary PTG Committee is now set up, but of course, we are looking for parents to volunteer on different event Committees for the 2019-2020 school year. The events run by parents for the BIS students adds to the social fabric of the school. Please consider signing up to any of the committees that BIS is going to need to run all the events. Remember, if an event does not have a committee to organise or volunteers to help, it won’t run. This sign up list is to create a steering Committee; the Committee will be in charge of coordinating the event. The school will help with the logistics and the funds needed to run each event.

PTG Bus Tour
For those of you who are new to the city join our PTG bus tour on Friday 6th September. Get to know your town as we take you around District 1 and 2. This starts at 8:15am and will finish around 1:00pm. Meet at the Secondary Campus Auditorium and email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your place.
Saturday Morning Football! (SMF)
We currently need parents to come forward to help with the administration and coaching to make this important club happen.
This is a parent-led activity for Year 2-6 BIS children held each Saturday during school term time on the Junior Campus field.
- 8-9am: Boys & Girls Y4-6
- 9-10am: Boys & Girls Y2-3
Parents do not need to be professional coaches/players, just need to have a love of football and enjoy working with the children.

Lastly, The PTG will do its annual football boot/kit collection to donate to our community partners. Any old boots and kits your children have grown out of, please keep to donate - collections boxes will be at both campuses soon.
