The Design and Technology (DT) Department at BIS is a hive of innovation where staff and students thrive in an atmosphere of collaboration which is a key feature of the department's success.

The DT curriculum is based around a practical sense of solving real life situations with students gaining a foundation in design methodology, and a variety of manufacturing skills. Key stage 4 sees students working with the CIE Product Design IGCSE where they are encouraged to become risk taking designers, who are open minded and enquiring.  At IBDP the knowledge base is taught in small tutorial groups, and students work with clients in the community to develop successful products for their Internal Assessment. DT at BIS also benefits from a new and exciting working relationship with MIT and is at the forefront of whole school STEAM provision. The DT department is a rich and rewarding place to work for creative and inspiring teachers.
