Christmas Events at the EY&I Campus

This week we had to close the doors to parents for our Year 1 production, ‘Penguin Pete’ and the F2 and F3 Sing-a-long.  Thankfully, our marketing team were already prepared so we could go ahead with both events, and parents could enjoy them via a YouTube livestream.  It was great to see, for both events, over 180 people watching live and now over 1000 views from relatives and friends from around the world.

‘Penguin Pete’ - Year 1 Christmas Production

There’s a penguin in the South Pole who is tired of getting fish for Christmas every year. So his penguin friends tell him to go and take his complaint to Santa in the North Pole! Penguin Pete decides to take the long journey up to the North Pole to find Santa.

Along the way he meets kangaroos, monkeys, camels and snowmen, who have never met a penguin before and they all think his feet look rather funny! Some kind reindeers eventually lead him to Santa who gives him some flip flops for his ‘slippy sloppy’ feet!

The children put on a fantastic performance of ‘Penguin Pete’, they sang and danced their hearts out on the stage. Even though parents were not able to watch in person, the children rose to the occasion and put on an unforgettable show. Luckily, Year 1 had an audience of Year 3 children who enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for all your efforts in getting the children ready for the performance. Well done Year 1, you are superstars!

Christmas Arrives in the Early Years with a Joyful Singsong!

2020 has been unusual from start to finish, so another ‘first’ for the EYFS children was their debut on the big screen as we live-streamed the F2 and F3 Sing-a-long from the school out across the globe.

Christmas is a time to unite families, but in this year where we are not with our wider families, it was very special to know that grandparents, aunties, uncles as far away as Canada, UK, Australia and the Philippines could all tune in see their little ones start the festive season with a bang. Year 1 & 2 were our live audience to help sing-a-long to all the Christmas classics with their unique, super, cute twist.

Mr Rhys and Ms Kate have been rehearsing the songs in music lessons, teachers and TAs helped to add actions and children worked hard to cut stick and glitter up their spectacular Christmas hats.

Thanks to parents and families who tuned in – we had nearly 200 families join the live-stream and over 1000 views in total.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas from the EYFS.
