Staff Profile: Claire Easter


Teacher of Computing / Data Manager

BSc Managerial and Administrative Studies, Aston University, UK

PGCE Business & IT, Staffordshire University, UK

Claire joined BIS in 2009, having spent 8 years teaching in Tamworth, UK and also teaching part time on the Staffordshire University PGCE course.  She has extensive experience teaching ICT across the Key Stages, and taught on several different A level courses before moving to the IB.  During her time in at BIS HCMC, Claire has overseen the introduction of Computer Science alongside the existing ICT and ITGS programmes and established a cross phase project between Year 2 and 8 which will complete its first full cycle in 2016. 

Claire thoroughly enjoys the enthusiasm of her students and colleagues here in Vietnam, and the opportunities to develop her teaching with students from so many different cultures.

Outside of school Claire is an experienced cricket scorer, and can regularly be found at RMIT on Sunday mornings supporting a number of teams in the Vietnam Cricket Association League. She has run a popular Thao Dien quiz night since 2011 and enjoys swimming, reading and knitting.
