Staff Profile: Anita Curley

Anita Curley_English Teacher

English Teacher/ Teacher-Librarian

BA English (Hons), University of Birmingham, UK

PGCE (F.E.) University of Cardiff, UK

Anita started her teaching career in further education at Gloucestershire College, teaching A Level and GCSE English.  After five years, and as Curriculum Leader, Anita moved into secondary education for six years where she taught Key Stages 3, 4 and sixth form, with specific responsibility for English at A Level.  Anita also has a qualification in ESL and taught at the University of Gloucestershire before taking her post-graduate teacher training in Further Education (post-16).  Throughout her teaching career, Anita has encouraged and supported students’ applications in national poetry and short story competitions, has been active in arranging theatre trips for GCSE and A Level English students, and has run a study group for Gifted and Talented students.  Anita enjoys theatre, art, walking, and spending time with friends and family.   She joined BIS in August 2014, moving to Vietnam with her partner, Sean, who also teaches at BIS, and her four year old son.
