Staff Profile: Owen McDevitt

Owen McDevitt

English Teacher/ Head of Year 11

BA English, University of South Africa, Pretoria

MA English Studies, University of Nottingham, UK

PGCE, The Open University, UK

Owen has been teaching since 2001 and joined BIS HCMC in 2018. Before this, he spent ten years teaching at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, where he was Head of Year 7 and an English Teacher. He has also taught in Oman, England and South Africa, although he is originally from Scotland. He is very passionate about education and literature and enjoys working inside and outside the classroom. Owen is in Vietnam with his wife, Carli, who is also a teacher at BIS, and their three boys. He is a keen musician and sportsman, and hopes to find the time for either in the future.
