Staff Profile: Lyn Stanley

Lyn Stanley - Head of Science | BIS HCMC

Head of Science

BSc. (Hons) Biology, The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK

PGCE Secondary education (Science), University of Durham, UK

Lyn joined BIS in August 2019 with extensive teaching and leadership experience in UK and international settings. She graduated from the University of Newcastle in Biology and went on to obtain her PGCE from the University of Durham. After 3 years teaching in the UK school where she gained accreditation for the National College for School Leadership Lyn embarked on her international teaching career. She has taught in well regarded international schools in Shanghai, Melbourne and Prague. Throughout her international career Lyn has held middle leadership positions, including Head of House, Head of Year and Head of Science. As such Lyn brings a wealth of valued experience including IB teaching experience and has been an IBDP examiner since 2013. Beyond the classroom, Lyn has also coached girls football teams to a high standard attending National and International sports tournaments including FOBISIA. Outside of school, she enjoys nothing more than spending time with her young family, working out and walking her 3 rescue dogs.
