Staff Profile: Carl Mincher


Head Teacher

Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Management, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK

National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH), Cardiff University, UK

Carl taught for 28 years before joining BIS as Head of Secondary in 2015. He started his career as a teacher of Physics in Cheshire in England. He then taught in a number of UK schools holding several leadership positions including Head of Science Faculty, Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Headteacher in a bilingual school before being awarded the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH) in 2007.

Carl has been the Head Teacher of Llanfyllin High School, Wales, UK for the last 8 years. Here, Carl also chaired the county Head Teacher’s Forum for a family of 12 secondary schools.

Carl joins BIS with his family, his wife is also a teacher at BIS and his two daughters are secondary students. Carl’s interests include reading, off‐road cycling, mountain walking and table tennis.
