Focus on Nursery

16 October 2014

Pre-Nursery and Nursery children have been having so much fun during the last couple of weeks! We have been talking about two really special subjects: TOYS and FOOD!

We had our first ever “Show and Tell” session with our favourite toys. In came cuddly teddy bears, toy cars, games, dollies, balls and many others. We showed them to our friends and tried to answer all the questions they were asking. We played together and enjoyed sharing our little treasures with each other.

We discussed toys we had played with as a baby and toys that we have now.

We played with puppets and tried to use different voices for different characters.

Oh, we do like talking about food! All those yummy pizzas, fish fingers, chicken drumsticks and French fries! But we did not forget about the most healthy stuff: fruit and vegetables. We compared their sizes and colours, we chopped them to make delicious salad, even squeezed them into juice! We made a cardboard pizza with different toppings and a “menu” for our home corner restaurant.

We enjoyed singing a song called “Do you like broccoli ice-cream?’’, it was so funny!

This week we have been trying to find answers to questions like ‘’Why is food important?’’, ‘’How do we feel when we are hungry?’’ and ‘’Where does food come from?’’. They were not so easy…

Nursery children have enjoyed looking for the signs of autumn an admiring all those beautiful colours around Dabrowskiego playground. We have been excited to find out about, and look at all the different sizes of the leaves. We have been

setting these out into the correct size order. We have been playing in the leaves,

throwing them high in the sky and making lots of mess. We have also learnt how to take photos with our I-pads!
