The new school year has started smoothly. The students settled in quickly and the teachers are right into their learning programmes for the year ahead. I trust that the term has started well for parents and that happy, excited and enthusiastic children are coming home in the afternoon.
The annual calendar of events is underway. The External Activities Fair and Welcome Coffee Morning at Limanowskiego were well supported by parents. The Fair provided the perfect opportunity for parents to involve their child in a wide range of activities run by external providers. Furthermore, the welcome coffee morning reignited contact between parents, possibly discontinued over the long summer break. The dining hall was a convivial setting for newcomers to meet and to hear the Chair of the PTA outline the rich programme of events planned for the year. A similar theme was followed last Saturday with a PTA organised Welcome Picnic at Limanowskiego.
I spent the past week watching, listening and talking to as many people as possible. Given that I am new to the school, I thought it wise to use this time to help gain a clearer understanding as to what needs to be done in the short term and start planning for the future. I have been impressed by the passion for our school, from all quarters. This is a fine school with endless potential. It is my responsibility to drive quality learning and teaching, from Pre-Nursery to Year 13.
I am looking forward to working with you as we turn dreams and aspirations into success and fulfilment.
Kind regards,
John Kennard
The Principal
