Charitable work
Christmas Giving Tree
Although we have only just got through Halloween, the PTA are already getting organized for our biggest charitable effort of the year, the Christmas Giving Tree.
The Christmas Giving Tree allows our children to think of others at Christmas time by purchasing gifts for children less fortunate than themselves. Please look out for more information next week. Primary children will receive a letter in their book bags, while secondary and IB students will receive direct communication via email.
It’s not too late to get involved as a volunteer, please get in touch with Sonia and Therese at PTA Charities.
Donation to local hospital
Thanks to last year’s generous charitable donations from TBS families, the PTA Charity Committee was able to purchase and donate a cardiac monitor to the public children's hospital at Nieklanska.
Our committee worked closely with The Friends of Children's Hospital Foundation in order to provide essential equipment, as there are no private children's hospitals in Warsaw and the public hospitals get minimal government funding for equipment needs. This cutting edge, portable monitor will replace an older, stationary model and save medical staff valuable time when evaluating paediatric patients.
Head of Neurology Dr Mikolaj Eibl, and Nurse Agnieszka Michalik send their sincere appreciation to the British School Warsaw parents for this donation. The hospital’s neurological department began using our monitor this summer, and the administration projects this equipment will be used to help hundreds of children from all over Poland each year.
Thank you for your donations and thank you to The Friends of Children's Hospital Foundation for their assistance.
Please get in touch to contact the charities committee.
