IB Warsaw Football Tournament

Last Friday, several IB students participated in the annual IB Warsaw Football Tournament hosted by the Copernicus High School.

With the joint efforts of the Student Leadership Team and the Sports Departament, we successfully managed to organise a team of Year 12 and Pre-IB students that represented our school throughout the tournament.

Lasting the whole day, the tournament was full of short six-a-side intense matches with each of the seven teams determined to come out victorious at the end of the day. Our first match was against the host school’s IB team, which unfortunately despite our team’s greatest efforts ended in a loss. However, still determined and hopeful we faced our next two opponents with even greater motivation winning both matches. Our fourth match, in which we faced the IB Raszyńska team, was extremely balanced and it therefore ended in a draw. The final two matches depicted a very high level of football, however despite our greatest efforts, both were narrowly lost. Ultimately we ranked fifth place, however it is safe to say that everyone on our team enjoyed themselves and had a lot of fun throughout the whole tournament.

To not miss out on this great experience and opportunity, the IB student leadership team is already planning for our school to participate next year.

To conclude, I would like to once again congratulate our IB team on a great performance.
