Year 3 Teacher

After working in bookshops for fifteen years, I retrained as a teacher on the Graduate Teacher Programme in 2001/02, receiving excellent coaching at Oakthorpe Primary School in North London, an accredited training and Beacon status school. I was offered a class teacher position there, and after spending a couple of years there I worked at Queens Park Primary School in Brighton. I gained experience teaching year groups from Reception to Year Four, before starting at British International School of Washington in August 2010.

Children at BISW are like other children I have taught in England; lively, curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn. But they also happen to come from all across the world and add a unique, interesting, and vibrant mix of views and personalities to our global classroom!
