Miss. Larissa Mastrantone

Deputy Head

Deputy Head of Primary

My name is Larissa Mastrantone and I am proud to be part of such a wonderful and diverse school community. The British College of Brazil is a true international school and working with children and families from more than 35 nationalities is a privilege. I have seen the school grow and flourish over the years and am excited by the direction it is going in.

I graduated in Nottingham, UK,  with a degree in Psychology and Educational Development then studied a further year to gain my Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Following this, my professional career began working in schools in England  then moving to schools in Mexico and Portugal. In 2014, I began teaching at the British College of Brazil when the Chacara Flora Campus was just a year old.

My passion is creating learning environments where mental well-being is a priority. High levels of emotional intelligence and resilience are front and centre in preparing pupils for everything they will encounter in life. My educational philosophy is based on providing a creative, holistic and personalised curriculum for young learners where all can succeed. I have a commitment to achieving high standards through the development of pupil creativity.

Outside of school, my passion is horse-riding. I enjoy riding regularly each week and participating in monthly jumping competitions with my horse Gilda. I love living in Brazil and am happy to say it has become my home.

As a leader, I create professional learning communities that are passionate about teaching and learning. I’m able to recognise both when and how adapting my leadership style is necessary. This is key to being able to address the nuances of different learning environments.

My ability to create a clear vision is backed by my strong strategic planning. By effectively communicating this vision, I create bonds that empower others to drive the vision forward. I believe that with emotional intelligence, powerful relationships and ambition, anything is possible.
