Windermere Prep Students raise over $50,000 for Local Hospitals

Windermere Prep’s third annual Lakerthon took place last Saturday, February 27th from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm in front of the Cypress Center. The third annual Lakerthon raised over $50,000 for Children's Miracle Network, specifically for Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital. Over the past three years, this event has raised over $145,000.

Throughout the night, Windermere Prep students, faculty and families enjoyed socially distanced fun with a gaming trailer, DJ truck, dancing, food truck, club activities, and lots of food! With everything going on, the Windermere Prep Student Government Association (SGA) worked tirelessly to ensure all safety precautions in place to make this a safe event. It was rewarding to see how successfully the event ran and the amount raised during the pandemic. Students have been fundraising for Lakerthon since the start of the school year, selling bundt cakes, poinsettias, hosting spirit nights, and a spirit week leading up to the main event. Windermere Prep is certainly for the kids, and we can’t wait for next year’s event!
