Lower School
Materials needed: WPS-appropriate PE clothes, running shoes (active footwear), a water bottle, and a journal (for 3rd through 5th grades)

Hydrate. Students should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout class.

Show respect consistently. Students should respect their classmates, teacher, and everyone else in the WPS community while traveling from their homeroom class to the designated PE area.

Listen and participate in lessons. Students should have the willingness to listen and learn in PE.
- Follow the rules established by the teacher. Students should follow all rules and policies set forth by the teacher, because they keep students safe and ensure learning takes place during each class.

Complete assignments in a timely manner. Students are responsible for all retakes of missed assessments and must communicate with their PE teacher to reschedule these assignments.

Dress appropriately. When students have PE, they must wear the proper attire to participate in the activity that day. Shorts under jumpers are highly recommended for female students. Appropriate active footwear is a requirement.

Be responsible in the locker room and dress promptly. Students in 5th grade must be on their best behavior when in the bathroom. They must dress promptly and report to their teacher as soon as they have finished changing. The PE uniform for 5th grade must be the WPS T-shirt and shorts.
For all grade levels, please remember that students should not bring valuables to their PE classes. If valuables go missing, WPS does not assume responsibility for these items.
Middle and High School
Materials needed: a combination lock, WPS T-shirts and shorts, running shoes (active footwear), a water bottle, and a journal.

Report to class promptly. Come to class and go directly to the boys' and girls' locker rooms to dress. Once finished dressing, exit the locker room.

Use a combination lock everyday. Each student will have a designated PE locker to use throughout the school year for their belongings. Students must use a lock at all times. Any items taken from the locker room are the student's responsibility.

Report for roll call. Report to your PE teacher for roll call.

Hydrate. Students should bring a bottle of water daily.

Stay positive. Students should maintain a positive attitude during every activity in class, understanding that it takes time to develop skills.

Display sportsmanship. Students should display good sportsmanship toward their teacher and classmates at all times.

Use your journal. Students will be required to keep a journal throughout the year that will include personal physical fitness recordings, goals, nutrition logs, and more.

Absences, Tardiness, and Participation

If students miss class, it is their responsibility to bring a signed note from a parent or doctor explaining why they missed class.

If students are late to class, they need to bring a note signed by a teacher or faculty member explaining why they were late.

If students do not present a note or email for tardiness or missing class, they will receive no credit for the day.

Although there is communication from the teacher to parents throughout the year, students must be responsible and pass along additional information to parents about class policies and procedures.
