NAIS Pudong Support for Lifeline Shanghai

04 十一月 2015

Lifeline Shanghai is for the first time able to promote its services with a fresh new campaign, made possible through the support of NAIS Pudong. From funds raised at various Community Group school events last year, 10,000RMB was donated to Lifeline Shanghai

For eleven years, Lifeline Shanghai has had its phone lines open, providing important and much needed counselling services to expats and locals, including students, in times of stress or crisis. At a special function to launch the new materials, Lifeline’s Coreene Horenko thanked NAIS Pudong Community Group Chairperson, Jody Dexter for the support saying, “Without this generous support from NAIS Pudong we would not have been able to put together these new flyers and get the message out about the service we provide.”

Jody Dexter received a special certificate in recognition of the contribution and said, “We really see the importance of this sort of support for families in Shanghai. We all know people who have had to deal with crises when they are far from home. Lifeline Shanghai is a real lifeline for many people.”

Lifeline Shanghai is a purely voluntary and not-for-profit service and, until now, has not been in a position to promote more broadly their essential work. Fifty-Five specially trained volunteers man the phones 365 days per year, providing a safe and confidential outlet for English speakers facing emotional, family or even school-related stresses.
