Marie has been teaching Mandarin for twelve years in international schools and has a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL). After completing her MA in Curriculum and Instruction of Chinese in East China Normal University she lived, worked in Tokyo for four years.
It has always been Marie's passion to be a Mandarin teacher to international students. Through her lessons she inspires students to achieve their highest level and encourages them to build on their individual strengths and passions. Her teaching is supported by her excellent subject knowledge as a result of her specialised education background. Marie creates challenges in every lesson and every activity to enhance every student’s learning experience, and to help them get better every day. Marie also values her own growth and learning in the classroom. She likes to include information on traditional Chinese culture into her language class. Maire ran the Chinese Culture workshop in ACMIS at BISS Puxi in 2016. In addition, she led Secondary students in the school’s annual Tanzania expedition in 2018.
Outside of school, Marie has particular interests in watching ballet competitions and shows. At the weekend, she visits old people's houses to read books, cook, and talk to those old people. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
