After her graduation, she returned to Germany for a year and took part in the EU Comenius Assistants Programme where she worked as a French assistant in a college in Wiesbaden. She then returned to university to complete her PGCE in French and German at the University of Hull. When she met her husband, they decided they wanted to explore the world further, so they moved to Malaysia for three years, where Gisele taught MFL in the Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur. After a brief return to UK, where she taught French and German in Brentwood School and French in Nottinghamshire, she decided with her family, that returning to the Far East would be much more exciting than rainy England, and in 2016, she and her family moved to Shanghai. Initially Gisèle taught the French Native Programme for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students, and the IGCSE French Native course. Since then, she joined the EAL team to teach Intensive English Lessons and the MFL team to teach German at Key Stage 3. Gisèle is a French native speaker passionate about teaching and learning languages. She is enthusiastic and enjoys sharing her passion with her students.
Since coming to China, Gisèle has started to learn Mandarin, and has started working her way through the HSK exams. She finds the cultural aspects of learning languages equally fascinating and she has thoroughly enjoyed visiting parts of China and exchanging cultural views and ideas with the people she met on her travels or in the local community. Finally, in her free time, Gisèle enjoys learning Mandarin, watching a good film, visiting new parts of Shanghai, travelling around Asia and spending time with her family.
