From the academic year 2018 – 2019 until now, we have made some positive changes and new additions to our school that you might noticed already. These changes have been made following the opinions and suggestions made in the last Parent Satisfaction Survey and have been done to create better education for our students.

10 teams, 06 countries and over 230 children and coaches with a love of sport joined in the dynamic U11 Nord Anglia South East Asia Games 2019 hosted by BVIS HCMC over the weekend of 7th and 8th December 2019! Congrats to BIS Hanoi team for their efforts - you have made us very proud!

Our community partner Hy Vong School have been continuing their regular weekly visits with Year 6. Both sets of students have enjoyed working together on science projects, making crazy putty and rainbow water jars.

The week beginning, November 25, saw Ms Catherine and Ms Jasmine lead a session called ‘Funky Phonics’ for the parents of children in the EYC. The aim of the workshop was to make parents more aware of the learning that goes on in our phonics lessons at BIS.

On Saturday, 23rd November, British International School Hanoi (BIS Hanoi) hosted the Hanoi Activities Conference (HAC) Maths Olympiad. 14 schools around Hanoi participated in the competition, which consisted of four rounds of fun and challenging mathematical activities.

We are delighted to announce that our student, Hyungun (Year 11), successfully took 1st place in the Junior category for his excellent cello performance at the Chianmai Ginastera International Music Festival 2019.

This week, students in Years 1-6 took part in Primary House Maths competition. The atmosphere was electric as students raced around the auditorium to be the quickest to retrieve and answer problems!

Christmas is coming and at BIS Hanoi, we celebrate the day with many different ways. One of which is our special Live Lunch – Winter Editions that excited many parents and students and got them into the Christmas spirit!

At BIS Hanoi, we marked the celebration of World Children's Day 2019 with several events. This year is extra special as it marks 30 years of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child – 30 years of child rights that have helped transform children’s lives around the world, and Vietnam was one of the first countries to sign the Convention.

This morning, BIS Hanoi celebrated two extraordinary academic achievements with Phuong Anh has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Top in the World’ in IGCSE Maths and Bao Linh, Kim Ngan and Quynh Anh returned from Yale University with a plethora of medals of WSC Tournament of Champions.

On November 16-17, UNICEF National Solutions Summit was hosted at UNIS with the participation of our students, UNIS’s students and students from Vietnamese public schools. BIS and UNIS students led teams of students to tackle the problems facing children in Vietnam today.

On Thursday, November 08, BIS Hanoi held an assembly to commemorate Remembrance Day.

Saturday, November 9 was also the UNIS swimming gala for our primary and secondary students.

Last Friday (November 2), British International School Hanoi (BIS Hanoi) hosted its 8th annual “International Festival” to celebrate the different nationalities and cultures within the school through traditional games, costumes and food as well as other community activities held by the school’s community partners.

It will be a fantastic week for students attending the STEAM Festival in Pattaya!

On Thursday and Friday, Year 13 delivered some outstanding presentations for their Theory of Knowledge (TOK) IB diploma course. The quality was particularly high this year with a small number of students even achieving full marks.
