Global Codeathon 2017

The Global Codeathon was held by UNIS Hanoi on Saturday 6th May, and involved 6 schools onsite: BIS Hanoi, UNIS Hanoi, Concordia, Hanoi International School, BDCF and a local Vietnamese school. In addition, 10 schools connected via Google Hangouts from India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Ho Chi Minh City, USA, and Uzbekistan.

Special announcement:

We are proud of our own BIS student Do Tuong Anh (Year 6) who came in 2nd place for her competition game entry called “Defend The Earth”.

Here is a picture of Tuong Anh presenting her game during the Coding Slam. Tuong Anh had 1 minute to present her game:

Special Mention:

Coco (Trong Nhan) (left) was a very competent presenter of his game. Here he is explaining to Anh Khoi how to play his game. Anh Khoi is using “Piano Stairs” to play the game with his feet.

Coco attracted crowds of children and teachers excited to play his game with their feet. Coco taught each one how to play it and helped them out.

Vu Ky Lam for thinking outside the box with his game, and making it about planting trees
Nguyen Anh Khoi for his inventive dialogue and great farm background
Noah McKie for having the coolest keyboard at the whole event
Nguyen Xuan An for working hard on his game and learning new skills
Do Tuong Anh for the courage to present and for developing such an impressive game
Coco (Bui Trong Nhan) for his style and panache in presenting his game to everyone, and for his quick game modifications to make it work with the “Piano Stairs”. Also, for taking the time to show his game to everyone who asked.
