PTG Spring Fair 2019 Spring has certainly arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, and that means just one thing… The BIS PTG Spring Fair has landed!

Spring has certainly arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, and that means just one thing… The BIS PTG Spring Fair has landed!

Promising to be bigger and better than ever before, this year’s PTG Spring Fair has surpassed all expectations with more than 1800 people rolling through the gates from 4pm until 7pm last Saturday, the 23rd of March. This incredible number almost doubled the previous highest recorded attendance at one of these events. A truly outstanding achievement.

After last year’s successful event held at the Early Years and Infant Campus, the decision was made to move the event back to the Junior Campus this year, as well as changing from an early afternoon event to an evening one. Whether the cooler time of the day was the main catalyst, or the huge range of traditional British school fair events on offer, the number of patrons attending the event was phenomenal and is a testament to the amount of hard work that went into the organisation of the evening. Huge congratulations must go to the entire organising team, but especially to Ms Nha, for all the lead up work over the six weeks prior to the event taking place.

The generous donations by all the fabulous supporters of this event, all 150 of them, ensured that the raffle, tombola and silent auctions were easily the biggest in the history of the event. Thank you to the following:

Approximately 400 prizes of all shapes and sizes were donated, with all sales of the tickets for these going to support our main community partners, namely: Anh Minh School for the Visually Impaired, Animal Rescue and Care (ARC), Binh An School, Binh Tho School, Endangered Asian Species Trust (EAST), Ky Quang Pagoda, Mai Am Boys Shelter, Mai Tam House of Hope, Phan Huy Ich School (Poussières de Vie) and the Thien Phuoc Home for Disabled Children. Also of great interest was the stalls set up by some of our Secondary students which were promoting their own enterprises; set up to also raise money for various charities.

Along with the change of venue this year, a range of new activities were also introduced with the hugely popular Slip-N-Slide and the Zorb Balls seeing plenty of keen participants lining up for their turns. Also popular were the traditional fair-type events such as the Easter Bonnet Decoration, Egg Painting, Tin Can Alley, Ping Pong Shoot, Guess the Baby and everyone’s favourite, Sponge the Teacher!

Again, another huge thank you to all of our fabulous sponsors, our incredible PTG, the school support staff, as well as the large number of teachers who gave up part of their weekend, ensuring this event went down as the best ever! On to next year now!
