Every year, our Tết Gift Box Collection unites students, parents, and staff in a tradition of giving, supporting local organisations that make a profound difference in the lives of vulnerable children, families, and elderly residents across Ho Chi Minh City. By donating simple yet essential items, stationery, hygiene products, and basic food supplies, our community can help brighten the holiday season for hundreds of individuals served by our community partners. Together, we can make Tết a time of joy, dignity, and opportunity for everyone.

For more than ten years, BIS HCMC has shared a close partnership with Thien Phuoc Foster Home, a residential centre that provides healthcare, rehabilitation and education for children with Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.

At the British International School HCMC, our Parent Teacher Group (PTG) is more than just supportive parents, they’re the heart of our community. Engaged, enthusiastic, and always ready to help, their impact stretches far beyond the school walls, building strong connections between students, staff and parents.

What do you do when you have school uniforms that are now too small, or you no longer need them, but you don’t want to simply throw them away? For BIS HCMC parents, Bibi, Margot, and Ying, this dilemma sparked an inspiring solution—the Parent Uniform Upcycling Team.

200 members of our community hit the streets of Thao Dien bright and early on Saturday for World Clean Up Day! It was great to see so many enthusiastic students, parents and staff joining together for our annual environmental clean up and we are pleased to announce that around 60 large bags of rubbish were collected!

After 13 years at BIS our Whole School Deputy Head Teacher (Enrichment) Ms Lauren Binnington has made a huge mark on BIS HCMC. One of the many long-lasting changes she has seen in her time is the development of our sustainability practices in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Last week two of our students, JaeYeon and Caitlin, joined over 100 NAE student delegates from around the world at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in New York City.  This was an extraordinary opportunity for them to develop their leadership and advocacy skills and collaborate with like-minded students to cultivate their social purpose through the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In May this year, a team of thirty-four Year 7 and 8 BIS HCMC students participated in a competition which was like no other. A unique experiential learning and social impact experience which took them on a journey of empathy and compassion!

Here at BIS HCMC we take great joy in our Nord Anglia collaborations with pioneering institutions such as MIT, Juilliard and of course the humanitarian aid organisation, UNICEF. With December 2021 marking the 75th anniversary of UNICEF, our Year 12 student Nini, was selected to interview former UNICEF UK President and UNICEF Ambassador, Lord David Puttnam. The Year of the Buffalo will be welcomed on the 12th February 2021, heralding one of the most significant holiday celebrations in Vietnam; the Vietnamese Lunar New Year!

With the recent devastating floods and landslides caused by torrential rain in central Vietnam, the BIS school community mobilised this week to find ways in which to urgently raise much needed financial aid in support of those most affected.

Last Saturday, on 19th September, over 130 members of the BIS HCMC school community, including students, parents and teachers from across the 3 campuses, joined volunteers worldwide and in the city to participate in World CleanUp Day.

Despite the challenge of COVID-19, our Precious Plastics group made it through to the semi-final of the Global Social Leaders 'Global Goals Competition', from 249 entries.

As the BIS staff and students rocked out Jingle Bells to the children of Thien Phuoc Foster Home, a young boy could contain his excitement no longer and with purposeful glee took to the dance floor!

Through our embedded community service programme our students work with a range of community partners, one of which is the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) who we have worked closely with for the past 5 years.

Here at the British International School Ho Chi Minh City we are delighted to partner with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation who have impacted the lives of over 50,000 children and families since being established in 2005.
