As part of our Geography IA preparation, we took a field trip to the Bükkös-Patak, where we learned how to collect and sample data in real conditions. It was a fun and active day, as we had to move quickly and stop at 10 to 12 different points along the river’s course. At each location, we measured things like water depth, velocity, and sediment size to see how the river changed along its course. The day was full of teamwork and problem-solving, and we got much better at organizing ourselves and working efficiently as the day went on. Even though the goal was to prepare for our IA, it didn’t feel like a regular school day. Being outside, exploring the area, and learning by doing made it a memorable experience. The trip gave us a better understanding of how rivers work and helped build confidence for when we start our own investigations.
