Year 9 Service Learning project, under the name of Wellbeing Fair, was a huge success.
Everyone in our year group has been preparing for months to be able to deliver such a result. The collaboration work was well spread out, with people from Sapphire writing some positive notes, taking smiling photos and organising a fitness challenge. Jade was hard at work making sure that everything goes well at their bake sale, and their football event. Ruby created a quiz, had a juice bar, and organised a penalty shootout. Year 9 Service Learning project, under the name of Wellbeing Fair, was a huge success.
Unfortunately, on May 22nd, the day of the Service Learning, there were some challenges: it was raining. Due to this we had to bring the entire fair inside, but despite this, we had fun, anyone who came there had fun, and we collected a lot of money.
To make sure the collaboration ran smoothly, one representative from Sapphire, Jade and Ruby often had meetings and talked with each other to make sure that everything ran smoothly on the day of the fair.
Prior to all this, Topaz also put in a lot of effort into their own bake sale. They supported Suhanj! Alapítvány and raised a whopping 50,000 Forint selling delicious treats.
Some things that we gained during this, was a large increase in our collaboration skills, a bit of taste for marketing, the ability to price a product and other business fundamentals.
Internal feedback from students included:
“Beni contributed a lot to the overall project.”
"Dorka got on well with her peers and supported everyone."
"Agata was so dedicated and thoughtful."
With that, the Wellbeing fair and this year’s Service Learning was a huge success and we are looking forward to next year.
Thank you to everyone that took part and supported our project.
