Prinsjesdag

Prinsjesdag - Prinsjesdag

Our Secondary students made their own annual budget and had to defend and debate their decisions on the distribution of the money in class. Both Primary and Secondary students learned about the importance of Prinsjesdag. Our youngest Primary students contributed with their arts and crafts, creating ceremonial tools such as the briefcase and carriages. On top of that, all of the students made their own hat - wearing a (flamboyant) hat is part of the Prinsjesdag tradition.

Our students also welcomed our Dutch Consulate-General, Mrs. Marjo Crompvoets, and her colleague, Mr. Giel van de Laar, for our celebration. Mrs. Crompvoets gave a very interesting presentation on Prinsjesdag and challenged our students in an exciting quiz. After eating orange cake, we opened our own briefcase so we could show Mrs. Crompvoets and Mr. Van der Laar what our students had been working on.   It was a great celebration of an important cultural event in the Netherlands.
