Even though we are only back to school a few days, PE lessons with specialists are already underway for children in Year 1 to Year 6.

The new-look PE department is made up. Steve O’Leary, the new Head of PE who has previously taught in Ireland. Another new arrival Robert Skeldon arrives from a Nord Anglia school in Qatar. Zoe Martin returns for another year of teaching PE here in BSB Sanlitun.

The PE department has hit the ground running with lessons commencing on the first Monday back at school. KS1 students are working on their fundamental movement skills in their first lesson of the week. In their second lessons, they are applying these skills in games of mini football.

KS2 children will begin their 8-week swimming programme at Tera Wellness Centre, Sanyuanqiao. The children will develop their stroke technique, confidence and pace in the pool. After the completion of the 8 week swimming programme, a KS2 Swimming Gala will be held at BSB Shunyi on Friday 19th of October.

Children in Year 5 and Year 6 have also commenced off-site PE at Lido, focusing on Tee-Ball. Year 3 and Year 4 are also using their second weekly PE lesson to focus on striking and fielding skills, using the facilities at BSB Sanlitun.

We are very excited for yet another blockbuster year on the sporting front at BSB Sanlitun and will have many more updates throughout the weekly newsletters!
