Year 1 are rocking in their new school shoes!
Since the return to school, the year 1 children have enjoyed exploring their new classrooms and primary building. We have followed the story of ‘Pete the Cat’ and his first day at school, using this to compare his first day experiences to our own. On Pete’s first day of school, he loved ‘rocking’ in his new school shoes all around his school. Year 1 went rocking in their school shoes on a fun tour of the primary buildings and were challenged to find Pete the cat hiding in different places around our school. In English, the children showed their understanding of the story by sequencing and retelling the story. The children have even decorated their own guitars, just like Pete the cat’s guitar in the story.
