The children in Year 5 went back in time as part of their Shang Dynasty and Ancient China topic.
Using our Avantis class VR headsets, the children were able to carefully examine bronze artefacts such as dǐng (鼎) and jué (爵) .
Virtual Reality headsets help bring learning to life in an engaging and dynamic way. The children were able to move around the virtual 3D artefacts with a simple tilt of their heads. They loved it.
The children used their learning from the VR headset lesson to construct their own Shang Dynasty artefacts using air-dry clay. The results were impressive - the children made jade hairpins, bronze vessels and even oracle bones. The children are really enjoying this Topic. It is great to learn about a civilization that existed over 3000 years ago in the very country that we all live in!
