Reception recently had a wonderful adventure on their school trip to Sheep MoMo – and what a memorable day it was! From the moment they set off, excitement filled the air as the children sang songs on the buses, eager for the day ahead.
Throughout the visit, the children had the opportunity to interact with and feed a variety of animals, from gentle goats to a particularly cheeky alpaca – “I got to feed an alpaca with funny teeth!” one child exclaimed. They engaged in active play, bouncing on trampolines and testing their courage and coordination on a giant spiderweb high in the sky. Water play added to the fun, with joyful splashes and squeals echoing through the warm afternoon.
“This was the best day ever!” one Sealion student shouted happily to Ms Kim as they climbed off the bus at the end of the day – tired, a little muddy, but completely full of joy.
This trip was more than just fun – it enriched the children’s learning across the EYFS curriculum. They explored the natural world (Understanding the World), communicated their thoughts and observations (Communication and Language), took part in physical challenges (Physical Development), expressed their delight through song and imaginative play (Expressive Arts and Design), and built relationships and teamwork through shared experiences (Personal, Social and Emotional Development).
A huge thank you to the staff and parent volunteers who helped make the day such a success. What a fantastic way to bring our learning to life!
