Collaborative Parenting Group A Huge Success
A group of Early Years and Key Stage One Parents embarked on a journey together as part of our Parent Partnership Series. Mrs Emily Clark, Head of Reception and mother of 2 Primary aged children at BSKL, led the group of 14 parents through a series of 4 sessions focusing on how parenting can be difficult and how to make your way through some of the challenges and difficulties that you can face as a parent. The study group used the book 'Peaceful Parents, Happy Kids: How to Stop Yelling and Start Connecting' by Dr. Laura Markham to facilitate their discussions.
The positive feedback and comments from the study group have been overwhelming.
One parent wrote: "Emily has done a good job making us all feel so safe and seen. The content is well thought of, the impact huge. Just knowing we are not alone and others struggle in similar areas and coming together to problem solve and share has been immense for my headspace. The sessions are so real, vulnerable and warm I look forward to them every week. I can see so many more parents benefiting from these sessions!"

The parents went away with certificates and a lot of new tools and ideas for how to be the best parent they can be. they also went away with new friends and a support network for when things do get too much and they need a listening ear or some advice.

Emily is very proud of the parents that took part and so is already planning for another round of study sessions with parents from across the Primary School. If you would like to take part in the 4-week series please make sure to sign up here.
