BSKL wins at the International School's Science Fair at Alice Smith
In a remarkable display of scientific expertise, Year 10 students from our school clinched victory at the prestigious International Schools Science Fair held at Alice Smith School on Thursday 7th March 2024.

The event, which brought together budding scientists from various international schools, witnessed BSKL's exceptional performance.

The science fair, known for its competitive spirit and rigorous evaluation of innovative projects, featured an array of impressive entries spanning various scientific disciplines. From physics and chemistry to biology and environmental science, students showcased their ingenuity and dedication to scientific inquiry.

The winning project by BSKL's Sasha, Lisa, Xing Ning and Ashley at the International Schools Science Fair focused on an ingenious water filtration system aimed at addressing global water scarcity issues. Through meticulous research and experimentation, the students developed a cost-effective and efficient filtration mechanism capable of purifying contaminated water sources, thereby making them safe for consumption. Their innovative approach incorporated readily available materials, making the system easily replicable and adaptable for communities lacking access to clean water. The project not only showcased the students' scientific acumen but also their commitment to tackling pressing environmental challenges with practical solutions.

One notable project from BSKL project on Blood Clotting presented by the Reena, Samantha and Anishka garnered an honorable mention for its insightful exploration of this vital physiological process. Through meticulous research, the students delved into the intricate mechanisms underlying blood clot formation, shedding light on factors influencing clotting time and efficacy.

Kay Lynn, Aalaa and Shreya presented their project on sustainable energy, which showcased a commendable commitment to addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Their project ingeniously explored innovative methods for harnessing renewable energy sources, offering practical solutions to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and mitigate environmental degradation. Through meticulous research and hands-on experimentation, the students demonstrated a deep understanding of sustainable energy technologies, illustrating their potential to revolutionize the way we power our world.

The victory at the International Schools Science Fair not only underscores BSKL's commitment to excellence in STEAM education but also solidifies its reputation as a hub for nurturing young scientific talent.

We are immensely proud of our students for their outstanding performance at the International Schools Science Fair. Their success is a testament to their hard work, curiosity, and passion for science.
