We are thrilled to share the success of our first BSKL Adventure Program trip to the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (F.R.I.M.), which took place on the 17th of May, 2024. Our Year 9 and 10 students embarked on a memorable day filled with learning, exploration, and fun.
Trip Highlights:
Trekking to Pine Hill: The students began their adventure with an invigorating trek to Pine Hill. Guided by our expert, Gary, they learned about the local flora and fauna while developing their hiking skills.
Campcraft at Kem Perah: Upon reaching Kem Perah, the students set up their tents and learned essential campcraft skills. This hands-on experience included pitching tents, organizing camp areas, and understanding campsite safety.
Cooking Lunch: Using Trangia cooking stoves, the students prepared and cooked their own lunch. This activity not only taught them how to use the equipment safely but also encouraged teamwork and self-reliance.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm and willingness to embrace new challenges. This trip provided a solid foundation for future adventures, where students will continue to build on the skills they have learned.
Upcoming Trips: We are looking forward to our next adventure – an overnight trip to Tanarimba, Janda Baik, scheduled for the 10th and 11th of June, 2024. This trip will further develop the students' outdoor skills, leadership abilities, and teamwork.
Thank You: A special thank you to Mr. Hidler, Ms. Spratt, and Ms. Abiman Yu for their dedication and support in making this trip a success.
Good nutrition is essential for children’s overall health and development, impacting their physical growth, cognitive function, and emotional wellbeing.
As we approach the final week of this term, it’s the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the incredible achievements of our students over the past months.
