The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards
for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old in
England. At BVIS HCMC, we provide Pre-Nursery (F1), Nursery (F2) and Reception
(F3) education of the highest quality within a safe, caring and stimulating
A British-styled Early Years education
Grounded on a play-based curriculum, the EYFS encourages children to expand their creativity, and introduces them to learning through themes in a secure and nurturing environment. The programme will allow your child to explore and discover at their own pace.
The EYFS includes seven areas of learning.
Three Prime Learning Areas
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
Four Cores Areas
- Understanding the world
- Expressive Arts and Design
We will help your child grow personally, socially and emotionally, to encourage a healthy sense of independence, confidence, and talents for problem solving.
A unique bilingual phonics programme
Our youngest students work towards Early Learning Goals in the seven areas of learning in both Vietnamese and English. Their bilingualism is carefully nurtured through our pioneering phonics programme, that teaches Vietnamese and English phonics using one single approach. Unique to BVIS, this programme teaches reading in both languages until our students are able to seamlessly switch between the two.
Our school is purpose-built to inspire learning, with dedicated facilities that create a stimulating and engaging environment that will maximise your child's personal and academic growth.
- A soft playroom
- An outdoor area specially designed for Early Years including a climbing castle, sandpit and splash pool
- A large bilingual library
Our outstanding teachers
Great teachers spark creativity and a love of learning in their students. All our educators are fully qualified with years of experience nurturing young ones. Our Early Years teams build wonderful relationships with our parents, sharing their knowledge and expertise through regular parent workshops, meetings, reports, and online learning portfolios. Our parents describe our teachers as approachable and knowledgeable.
Personalised learning approach
Personalised learning is at the heart of BVIS. We'll match your child's needs and learning preferences by adapting how we teach, and focusing on their individual strengths and areas for growth. Our teachers plan personalised, engaging and inspiring learning experiences to allow your child to develop their interests and meet milestones for their age group.
A supportive and close partnership with parents
We recognise that parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and great advocates on the learning journey. We understand the importance of healthy communication, and nurture close relationships with parents to enhance our students' learning experience. There are a number of ways we maintain this, through individual learning portfolios, weekly publications and parent meetings.
Our staggered entry
Your child will enjoy a ‘staggered entry’, tailored to allow them to confidently transition into full time learning. This approach will also give your child's teacher time to get to know them, and give them dedicated time, care and attention during the early stages of starting at a new school. During this time, new students make friends, learn more about the educators in their class, become familiar with routines and structures at a comfortable pace. Our Foundation 1 children usually take a little longer to settle in compared to the Foundation 3 children, but all children are different, and we'll work with you to decide on the most appropriate schedule for your child.
