March 3

We’re working hard to incorporate social emotional learning into everyday learning. In March our SEL lessons and house morning meetings will focus on kindness. We’ll culminate the month with a day of team games during Field Day. We’re in need of volunteers in order to make Field Day a success. Please email Ariel if you can help for an hour or two (between 8am and 12pm)!

Student-Led Conferences in Elementary
  • Student-led conferences are an opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning and share their work. During conferences families will hear about their child’s strengths and proud moments as well as current challenges.
  • Our students are spending time preparing for their conferences and are eager to present to their parents.
  • If a teacher has specific areas of concern, the teacher will always contact families on an ongoing basis. If a parent ever has a specific concern, we also encourage families to request a meeting at any point in the school year. Teachers will not hold individual conferences with families during student-led conferences.
  • Families will multiple children at CDS will receive a conference sign-up link on March 8th and general sign-ups will start on March 10th.

We would like to inform you of the upcoming bake sale, which will take place on Friday, March 10. This bake sale will raise money for the Zero Waste CR organization.  The Zero Waste CR organization is dedicated to creating a world without waste. The organization is working to change habits and get rid of individual use plastic. We want to contribute to their cause. This bake sale will be organized by the students of the 5th grade; class 5B. The treats in the bake sale will range in price from 500 colones to 1500 colones. All the money raised during the bake sale will be donated to the Zero Waste CR organization at the Earth Day Summit celebration on April 21st. We look forward to sharing more information about the Earth Day Summit at the beginning of April! Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
