Many of our Champittet students embarked on new adventures both abroad and in Switzerland during our February break. From participating in community service in Tanzania, to discovering the culture of Japan, to hitting the slopes in Zermatt, our school trips introduced our young travellers to new landscapes and experiences.

Our annual STEAM programme at Collège Champittet aims to spark curiosity, foster creativity and develop collaboration through interdisciplinary learning. Powered by our collaboration with MIT, our STEAM curriculum helps students sharpen their skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

Collège Champittet has been shaping young minds for more than 120 years. Exams can often be a stressful time for students, making strategies for coping with the pressure all the more important. At Collège Champittet, we believe that prioritising student wellbeing is key to ensuring success, both academically and personally.

How can we sum this up in three sentences, a message focused on hope: Nothing could have prepared us for this tragedy, which claimed the lives of three students at the College, as well as four recent alumni, and seriously injured two students. Great care is needed to support young people who are shocked by this news and these images.

At Collège Champittet, our Forest School programme brings outdoor adventure into everyday learning. The UK’s Institute for Outdoor Learning has reported that regular outdoor learning enhances academic performance, social skills, behaviour and learning engagement.

It has often been said that “educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Yet, the question of how to develop a strong moral compass is often brushed aside as schools focus on test scores and academic results. At Collège Champittet, we consider ethics to be inseparable from a well-rounded education.

The holidays are always a time for giving back at Collège Champittet. As part of our school year’s theme of “Compassion”, we are especially proud of our community’s efforts this December to make donations – including food, toys and blood – and fundraise for those in need, both near and far.

In November, our Champittet boarding students spent a memorable five days discovering the rich heritage of Italy’s capital.

At Collège Champittet, one of our recent initiatives, the Literary Passport, is nurturing a community of enthusiastic readers in French, English and German.
