What a special moment we are living in with the appearance of this virus!
Suddenly, while we had many projects in progress, including a meeting with our alumni on Saturday May 16th, Covid 19 appeared and "confined" us to our houses and apartments! We had to reinvent our way of teaching by doing it at a distance, which was not easy for our young students, their parents and teachers. All of them contributed and we were able to "keep the connection", which was the most important thing for us.
School resumed on April 27th for the PS and on May 11th in ½ group for the other children. What a joy to see almost everyone again! The smiles (not always apparent under the masks but visible in the eyes) warmed our hearts and gave back an atmosphere of work and animation in the school.
We are looking forward to being able to return to a more or less "normal" life from May 25th and to start some projects again! For example, taking care, with the students, of the vegetable garden so that we can enjoy delicious vegetables from the garden at the end of spring and in autumn. Or discover how the little chicks are born thanks to the two egg incubators we currently have at school. And end the year in style all the same!
By learning to plan their time wisely, students can be more productive, develop great study habits, and create a balanced lifestyle – one that fosters both personal and academic growth. Mastering this essential skill also sets them up for future success.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Here at Champittet, we know that inspiring children to dream big while envisioning their future is a core part of education. It’s also the focus of Dare All Trades Day, or JOM (Journée Oser tous les Métiers).
The Winter Ball is an eagerly awaited annual tradition here at Champittet, but this year brought a twist: the school’s first ever Masquerade Ball. With the theme “Black and Gold, don’t forget your mask!”, this year’s winter dance was organised by 14th-grade IB students, and the event was open to students in grades 9 and 10.
