If there is one profession that is convinced of the virtues of continuing education, it is the teaching profession.
At Collège Champittet, we offer our teachers four pedagogical days per year, to which we have added five additional half-days this year.
The topics covered in the last two years have been: multilingualism, the Forest School, new technologies applied to teaching, learning support for children with special needs as well as egality, diversity and inclusion.
In addition, the Nord Anglia Education Group provides our teachers with an online training platform, Nord Anglia University, which offers a variety of courses at the cutting edge of education.
Thanks to the partnerships it has developed, the group also gives our teachers the opportunity to train with MIT and The Juilliard School.
Some of them have gone a step further and decided to pursue a full degree program:
Géraldine Toussaint: CAS Economics and Pedagogy of Early Childhood Education, Geneva University
Melania Ciobanu: CAS Economics and Pedagogy of Early Childhood Education, Geneva University
Sabrina Bariswyl: CAS Environmental Education, Silviva Foundation
Marlène Adamah: Master in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Graines d'Éveil
Matthew Roberts: Master’s in international education, King's College, London
Janine Jalube: Master’s in international education, King's College, London
Steve Krout: Master International Education, King's College, London
Nesrin Elembaby: Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Liverpool University
Marion Pyrlick: Master in Germanistik, Lausanne University
Johanna Öttl: Master in Germanistik, Lausanne University
Josephine Vittoz: Master in Sciences and Education Practices, UNIL, HEP
We salute their courage, hard work and determination and thank them for their commitment.
Our next step?
That these teachers, who have trained with the best specialists in the world, pass on their new knowledge to their colleagues and thus enable our Collège to be a learning organisation.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Here at Champittet, we know that inspiring children to dream big while envisioning their future is a core part of education. It’s also the focus of Dare All Trades Day, or JOM (Journée Oser tous les Métiers).
The Winter Ball is an eagerly awaited annual tradition here at Champittet, but this year brought a twist: the school’s first ever Masquerade Ball. With the theme “Black and Gold, don’t forget your mask!”, this year’s winter dance was organised by 14th-grade IB students, and the event was open to students in grades 9 and 10.
Who says summer is far away? Registration is now open for the Champittet Leadership Camp!
