Diving into something new: Champittet Nyon adds swimming courses to curriculum

Diving into something new: Champittet Nyon adds swimming courses to curriculum - Diving into something new

In response to a popular request from our families, we are delighted to integrate swimming into the curriculum at Champittet Nyon. From preschool to Grade 8, every child will now complete five weeks of swimming lessons per academic year.

For the past few years, our families have told us that they would like swimming to be part of the school curriculum. After a year of logistical organisation and evaluating test groups last spring, we are thrilled to make this wish a reality.

Our new swimming courses are designed to help children build up their skills and confidence week by week. Students will be placed into appropriate levels based on their abilities. Each of the main levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold – will be split into three sub-levels. Experienced coaches will guide and motivate our children as they learn to swim and master different techniques.

At the end of the five-week period, an evaluation will be given so that students can reflect on their progress. Finally, they will be rewarded with a medal in recognition of their effort and newly developed skills!

Essential for water safety, swimming is also a wonderful workout for the body and mind. By introducing children to swimming from an early age, we aim to help them build an important lifelong skill and develop confidence, both in and out of the water.

We can’t wait to dive into this new adventure together.

Happy swimming!
