EYFS and Year 1 Open Morning
Sixth Form Open Evening
Nervous and excited. I think that accurately sums up the feelings of the Dover Fins Swim Team at The AIS swimming pool on Saturday. We were there to compete in the Third Novice ACSIS Swim Meet. For several swimmers it was the first time they had entered into an Inter-School Swimming Gala and boy o boy `did'nt they do well`. All the squad wore their new Dover Fins swimming caps and, I think you will agree, they looked fantastic in the pool!
There were Freestyle and Medley relays, diving blocks, 8 lanes, flags, seven other schools and a lot of spectators. So no wonder there were a lot of nerves. A warm up followed and the children had an opportunity to use the blocks as well as get a `feel` for the pool. Then we were off starting with the Medley Relays. Nervous faces left our area to go to the marshalling area & beaming happy faces came back asking us`when am I swimming again?`
Suddenly it was all and the Novice Dover Court swimmers were no more. They had done it! Mr Rigby & Mrs Good were very proud of every swimmer. It was a chance to reflect on a wonderful experience & one which I have already pencilled in for next year. Many thanks to all the swimmers and to the supporters for your cheers and encouragement.
