A wonderful evening including choir singing from Upper Primary and Secondary and some outstanding instrumental and vocal performances
It was standing room only at the Annual DCIS Christmas Carol concert at St George's Church on December 2nd. Those gathered witnessed choir singing from our Upper Primary and Secondary students of an extremely high standard, together with some outstanding individual and small group instrumental and vocal performances. The audience was treated to Christmas songs and carols in a wide range of languages, a vivid reminder of the wonderful diversity of the DCIS community.
The busiest man of the evening was undoubtedly Mr Henkel, who was on his feet the entire night - delivering encouraging guidance for solo performers and expert direction for the choirs, all the while remembering to prompt parents when it was their turn to join in singing some of the old Christmas favourites.
There were rousing cheers for the DCIS Staff Choir after their fantastic performance of Feliz Navidad. The evening was rounded off with an impromptu standing ovation for Dr Maureen Roach, with those gathered paying tribute to her dedication and leadership of the school over so many years.
Our Year 7 students went on two amazing trips to Sibu Island, Malaysia, for their year group residential. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in a vibrant new culture, students had the chance to connect with their friends and make memories that will last forever.
