‘Learner Ambitions’ framework in classroom and extra-curricular activities
The curriculum of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme and the DCIS Instrumental Programme was presented at the parent workshop last week.
The ways in which the nine ‘Learner Ambitions’ framework is delivered in both the classroom and extra-curricular activities were detailed in the 90 minute presentation, explaining the three main areas of the curriculum – ‘Ways of Doing’, ‘Ways of Being’ and ‘Ways of Thinking’.
Parents were able to gain insight into these three learning disciplines by experiencing an excerpt of a lesson from a student’s perspective, in which the objectives of the lesson were:
Parents experienced how these objectives developed four of the nine key competencies of the ‘Learner Ambitions’ model, while fostering all of the ‘Ways of Doing’, ‘Ways of Being’ and ‘Ways of Thinking’ disciplines.

The re-launched Dover Court Instrumental Programme was also presented, with parents given the opportunity to ask questions directly to instrumental teachers over a range of topics.
