The spring 2022 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream was a fantastic success and sparked an even greater interest in drama amongst our Secondary students.
We were thrilled to see so many enthusiastic young thespians auditioning for our school production of Alice in Wonderland. Over one hundred students from Years 7 - 10 participated in a series of movement, performance, and vocal activities with dynamism and determination, demonstrating their willingness to work with others and their passion for the arts.
Witnessing the new black box studio buzzing with excitement and anticipation, out of curriculum time, was a significant reminder that what happens outside of lessons is just as important as what happens in them. Participation in a school production is something that will be remembered by students long after they have left DCIS and the collective effort of working towards a shared goal helps to nurture, build confidence, and develop a sense of community.
The rehearsal process is now well underway and we cannot wait for the premiere, which will take place at the end of March 2023.
